A nine days tour with 4 days of trekking in the heart of the Garhwal
Himalayas. The entire alpine valley nestling in the shadow of snowy peaks
becomes a natural garden after the snow melts in June. Here a large
variety of flowers burst into bloom during the monsoon to reach the peak
from mid July to mid August.
This area is in the Central Himalayan region, which is located in Uttar
Pradesh. The region has many peaks, i.e., the Nanda Devi, Kamet, Kedarnath,
Jogin and many more. This region fulfils the dream of the botanist,
ornithologist and the anthropologist as well as the angler. |

DELHI - RISHIKESH - 220 KMS. |

The drive to Rishikesh
is through the plains of Western Uttar Pradesh with lush green fields
basically a rich-harvesting zone of India. Haridwar, 25 kms before
Rishikesh, as the name implies is the gateway to the heaven. Lying at
the feet of the hills below the Himalayas, it is a link city between the
plains of India & the Himalayan ranges in the north.
Rishikesh in ancient times was called TAPOBHUMI or the place of
meditation. It is situated on the right bank of the river Ganges and
contains many Ashrams & Yoga centres. Swargashram & Geeta Bhawan across
the river are worth a visit. They are accessible by boat or more
conveniently by Laxman Jhoola, a hanging bridge, which is the oldest of
its kind in the area.

RISHIKESH - JOSHIMATH - 290 KMS. |

In the morning we drive
to Joshimath, also known as `Vishnu Prayag'. (1875 mts)
It is one of the most important towns of Garhwal and is located where
the Alaknanda and Rishi Ganga rivers meet. This town also houses the
sacred lamp, which is moved down from Badrinath during the winter and is
also known as the seat of the `jyotirlingas'. Upon arrival check into
tourist bungalow for your overnight stay.

JOSHIMATH - GOVIND GHAT - GHANGARIYA. |
 |

After breakfast depart by road for Govind
Ghat, a small hamlet situated near the confluence of the Laxman Ganga
and the river Alaknanda.
A 14 km trek takes you to Ghangariya, the base camp for the Valley of
Flowers.

GHANGARIYA - VALLEY OF FLOWERS - GHANGARIYA |

Morning trek 4 kms to the
Valley. Explore the Valley and note some rare examples of Himalayan flora
e.g. Brahm Kamal (Saussurea Obolavata), Himalayan Blue Poppy (Meconopsis
Aculata) and several others. Trek down to Ghangariya. Overnight camp. |

| Day 6 |
GHANGARIYA - HEMKUND SAHIB. |

Early morning trek to
Hemkund Sahib (4150 mts).
About three hours brings us to a sacred lake by the Laxman temple and
the Gurudwara (Sikh temple) of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the
Sikhs. He meditated here in his previous incarnation.

HEMKUND SAHIB - GOBIND GHAT. |

Early morning start the
trek for Gobind Ghat (21 kms) arriving in the late afternoon.

GOBIND GHAT - JOSHIMATH. |

Early morning drive to
Joshimath, which we shall explore upon arrival. Overnight Tourist
Bungalow. |

Drive to Haridwar and
check into the tourist Bungalow for overnight stay. |

RISHIKESH - HARIDWAR - DELHI. |

Morning visit to the
Har-Ki-Pauri at Haridwar, the famous Ganges temple.
After lunch drive to Delhi taking about 5 hours.
Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to hotel Qutub
Late night departure to the International airport. |
