TAJ LAKE PALACE, UDAIPUR

Founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh, the lake city of Udaipur is often referred to as the 'Venice of the east'.
Udaipur a city full of extravagant palaces, hilltop fortresses, temples and romantic gardens, Udaipur a 'city of Dreams' is, not surprisingly, a favourite with travellers, both Indian and foreign. Even James Bond in Octupussy had a stint of actions here.
Lake Palace is a fantasy island palace shimmering on mirror-calm Lake Pichola, the Lake Palace is one of the most romantic hotels in the world.

TAJ RAMBAGH PALACE, JAIPUR 
A hunting lodge called Ram Bagh (Garden of Ram) was installed out side Jaipur walled city by Maharaja Swai Ram Singh II (1835 -80). Rooms were further added to accommodate the Royal Guests of Maharaja Madho Singh.
1n 1940 when Maharaja Mansingh married Princess Gayatri Devi, he revamped the Royal Suites. He ruled the Jaipur State until India's independence in 1947 from this Palace. In late 50s the Rambagh Palace Hotel was formally opened and the Maharaja of Jaipur became the first active hotelier in India. Rambagh Palace came under the management of Taj Group of hotels in the year 1972.
It has got Standard rooms, which are elegant, airconditioned with all modern facilities like channel music, television, direct dialing facility from each room. Superior rooms are tastefully decorated in the Rajasthani Style.
You can also choose from Maharaj Suite with large canopied bed, Maharani Suite with mirrored bathroom and Princess Suite with fountains and private terrace garden.

 
TAJ JAI MAHAL PALACE, JAIPUR 
During the reign of Sawai Ishwari Singh (1743 - 50), his Prime Minister and Military Commander Hargovind Natani developed this property and was called as NATANI KA BAGH (Garden of Natani). Maharaja Sawai Mansingh gave the name Jai Mahal to Natani Ka Bagh. It is not known whether he gave the name after his beloved 2nd son Jai Singh or after the city Jaipur.
It was only in December 1955 that Jaimahal Palace Hotel was opened. In 1984 Rajmata Gayatri Devi gave the management to Taj Group of Hotels.

THE RAJ PALACE, JAIPUR 
The first mansion in Jaipur, The Raj Palace was built in 1728 by the Prime Minister of the Raj, Thakur Mohan Singhji of Chaumoo and has remained his descendant's residence until now. In 1997 the family renovated the elaborate complex of courtyards, arched corridors and residential quarters to restore the mansion to all of its original glory. Built on a sprawling complex, The Raj Palace is a testimony to the skills of master craftsmen. SAMODE HAVELI, JAIPUR 
Samode Haveli was built by Rawal Sheo Singh who was Prime Minister in the Royal court. It has beautiful rooms furnished with period furniture, arched windows and intricate wall designs. The Haveli is a magnificent reminder of glorious past. It has 18 rooms with attached bath.

 
FORT SARDAR GARH, 3 Hrs from Udaipur
Sardargarh, one of the magnificent forts of Rajasthan, is an extravagant creation by men of a bygone era, placed amidst the mountains and deep forests of Chuppun. Sardar Singh, one of the most powerful Dhodhias, built the Sardargarh Fort during 1738 to 1743. You can see the ramparts of the mystery filled Sardargarh, like a great ship anchored at outer sea, much before you get close to the gigantic walls soaring high above the low lying village of Lawa. Magnificent fort of Sardargarh is situated 94km north from Udaipur.

 
TAJ UMAID BHAWAN PALACE, JODHPUR
Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the largest and grandest private residences in the world. Built between 1929 and 1942, this imposing building is a splendid example of the Indo-Colonial and art deco style of the thirties.
 

 
AJIT BHAWAN, JODHPUR
In 1922 Maharaja built his residence, It was a two storied building with 25 rooms. Zenana (ladies) appartments were on the 1st floor veiled by carved Jaali screens. The facade of the palace was crowned with a large central dome flanked with two smaller domes at either end of the building. Sobhag Singh and Swaroop Singh, sons of Maharaja Ajit Singh converted Ajit Bhawan into a hotel in the year 1980. It has a total of 50 rooms with attached bath.
